Job summary

Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust Nurseries are inviting applications from qualified early years professionals. You will support the Nursery Manager and lead a team to deliver high-quality care and education across two sites for 0–5 year olds.

Open year-round, 7am–6pm, with comprehensive LTHT benefits and ongoing development opportunities. You will work within EYFS guidelines, safeguarding requirements, and Ofsted processes to ensure excellent outcomes for children and families.

Qualifications

  • Must hold UK recognised Level 3 in early years with Level 5/teacher status.
  • Experience delivering high-quality care and education under EYFS guidelines.
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding and Ofsted welfare requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Support Nursery Manager in day-to-day nursery operations.
  • Lead, mentor and develop nursery staff to maintain high standards.
  • Collaborate with families and external agencies to support each child’s development and wellbeing.
  • Prepare for Ofsted inspections and ensure compliance with welfare requirements.
  • Promote a positive, collaborative professional culture within the team.

What You Will Bring To The Role
  • Must be at least a level 3 qualified in a UK recognised early years qualification with a recognised level 5 early years qualification/ teacher status.
  • You’ll be responsible for supporting the Nursery Manager in the day-to-day running of the nursery, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care and education in line with the EYFS, Ofsted requirements, and the nursery’s policies and procedures.
  • You’ll play a large part in helping to lead, mentor, and support the nursery team , promoting a positive, collaborative, and professional culture while ensuring staff development and performance are maintained to a high standard.
  • You’ll help the manager to collaborate with a range of individuals, building strong, trusting relationships with families and external agencies, supporting each child’s development and wellbeing, and ensuring the nursery is always prepared for Ofsted inspections.
  • Excellent understanding of EYFS.
  • Extensive knowledge of safeguarding children.
  • Have experience at managing day care settings with knowledge of all Ofsted Welfare Requirements for children and inspection procedures
  • You’ll have experience supporting team members to achieve good outcomes of Ofsted inspections, Quality Assurance Schemes, Local Authority initiatives.
