St Joseph's RC Primary School in Edinburgh is seeking an Early Years Practitioner to plan and deliver high-quality learning experiences for our nursery and early years pupils. This post involves 36 hours per week across 39 weeks, with salary paid in 12 equal monthly payments.

Salary: £30,188 - £34,452
Hours: 36 per week, 39 weeks sessional

We are looking for an Early Years Practitioner to join our setting, who can bring knowledge, experience, vitality, flexibility, and a passion for helping young children develop and grow through planning and providing high-quality learning experiences.

The Early Years Practitioner must hold SCQF Level 7 in Social Services (Children and Young People) or HNC Childhood Practice (SCQF Level 7).

EYPs do not work during the 12 weeks of school holidays; however, the total salary is paid in 12 equal monthly payments, over the year. Please read the sessional working information attached to this advert. This explains how salaries are calculated for sessional (term time) and part time posts. There are also opportunities to work in a holiday hub provision during the school holidays for successful candidates looking to work during the school holidays.

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.

Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range.
