Job summary

A nurturing educational organization in the East Midlands is looking for an experienced Early Years Practitioner to create a stimulating environment for young learners. This role requires a DfE-recognised qualification and substantial nursery experience, focusing on delivering high-quality EYFS provision. Qualifications

  • A DfE-recognised Early Years qualification is essential.
  • Extensive nursery experience required; not suitable for Key Stage 1 or 2 backgrounds.
  • Strong knowledge of the EYFS framework.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality provision in line with the EYFS curriculum.
  • Plan children’s learning through purposeful play.
  • Support learning and development in small groups.
  • Create an inclusive and caring environment.
  • Attend to personal care needs of children.
  • Prepare the setting before children arrive.

PK Education is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a caring and inclusive nursery and infant setting that places children at the heart of everything they do. About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Early Years Practitioner with substantial nursery experience to join a highly committed early years team. This role is central to creating a safe, stimulating, and engaging learning environment where children can explore, grow, and develop a lifelong love of learning.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality provision in line with the EYFS curriculum.
  • Plan for and extend children s learning through purposeful play and enriching interactions.
  • Work confidently with small groups to support learning and development.
  • Contribute to an inclusive, caring environment that promotes independence and well‑being.
  • Attend to children s personal care needs, including nappy changing.
  • Ensure the setting is prepared and welcoming before children arrive.
Requirements
  • A DfE-recognised Early Years qualification is essential (to be counted in ratios).
  • Extensive nursery experience this role is not suited to candidates whose backgrounds are primarily in Key Stage 1 or Key Stage 2.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of the EYFS framework.
  • Ability to engage, motivate, and extend children s learning through high‑quality provision.
  • Reliability and professionalism; working hours are before 8:30am until around 4pm.
