Level 5 Early Years Lead Practitioner Apprenticeship – Deputy Manager - Becket Hall Day Nursery

Shoots Training are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable and hardworking individual to complete their Level 5 Early Years Lead Practitioner Apprenticeship for the Deputy Manager role at Becket Hall Day Nursery, Bristol.

Becket Hall Day Nursery is a 48-place setting located in the heart of Bristol’s bustling business district just off Bristol Bridge. At Becket Hall we believe that our nursery is unique, offering an Ofsted registered setting for children aged from 8 weeks to 5 years of age which is secluded, stimulating and safe. We provide a caring, relaxed, homely environment for both children and parents and are open 51 weeks of the year, Monday to Friday, 7.30am until 6.00pm (closed bank holidays).

Becket Hall is a listed historic Church Hall, where we have 4 classrooms. We offer well-equipped, educational spaces along with a lovely enclosed large garden.

The Hall comprises an upper deck and lower playroom for our babies & infants, with a separate sleep room. A second upper deck and a large open plan play area downstairs for our toddlers and pre-schoolers with free flow onto the garden & path. The building is also comprised of our children’s toilets, a kitchen, dining/messy play and cooking activity space, and a parent area/ office and staff room.

At Becket Hall we strongly value our parent partnerships and recognise the importance of the relationship between a child and their family, with their key worker at nursery. For that reason when joining our setting we try to make the transition from home to nursery as smooth as possible, by creating a sense of belonging so children are able to see our nursery as an extension of their home.

We encourage families to keep in touch via our free Parentzone app where both nursery and at home learning can be shared via photos, videos and written observations. We encourage families to share their special events and/or join us at the nursery for our in-house monthly parent events.

At the nursery although our staff work as a team and so your child will be cared for by all our dedicated team, your child’s key worker is responsible for observing and monitoring your child’s learning journey. Our key workers have high aspirations for all of our children and so use these observations to plan next steps for learning to help each child individually reach their full potential.

Your duties and responsibilities will include;

  • To support the manager and undertake management duties.
  • Be responsible for and support with the opening and closing of the nursery
  • To help delegate duties and support with staffing whenever there is sickness.
