Job summary

Dudley MBC is recruiting a Best Start in Life Inclusion Practitioner to join our Family Hub teams. The post supports babies and young children aged 0–5 with SEND, ensuring timely and right-level support within a multi-agency framework.

You will work with families and professionals across health, education and early help services to identify needs early, deliver short-term interventions, promote inclusive practice and help reduce inequalities.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children aged 0–5 with SEND.
• SENCO or similar experience in education, health, or early years.
• Understanding of child development and inclusive practice.
• Ability to engage with families from diverse backgrounds.
• Delivery of interventions and support for colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Identify emerging developmental needs with children and families.
• Deliver short-term, targeted interventions and support programmes.
• Use evidence-based approaches to assess and monitor development.
• Model inclusive strategies for communication, play and learning.
• Support parents with practical guidance and advice.
• Coordinate multi-agency support across health, education and early help services.
• Build confidence and capability within Family Hub teams and partners.
• Promote inclusive practice and access to support without a formal diagnosis.
• Contribute to improved outcomes for children with SEND and reduce inequalities.
