Job summary

Bright Horizons Farnham Day Nursery and Preschool is seeking an Early Years Field Chef to cover nurseries in Farnham and surrounding areas. You will travel to multiple sites, prepare and present age-appropriate meals with minimal wastage, ensuring dietary requirements and allergies are catered for.

You will keep kitchen records, maintain a clean, safe environment and support nursery management with food ordering, while upholding Bright Horizons HEART values.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a commercial catering role.
• Passion for nutrition and inspiring others in healthy eating.
• Ability to demonstrate knowledge of dietary requirements, particularly allergies.
• Food Safety CIEH L2 or above – to be passed on day 1 in post.
• Sound knowledge of COSHH.
• Great communication with colleagues, children and parents.

Responsibilities

• Travel to nurseries within a region to cover when the permanent Chef is on annual leave or absent.
• Prepare, cook and present age-appropriate meals with minimal wastage.
• Cater for dietary requirements and communicate them to teams.
• Keep accurate kitchen records, maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Support nursery management with food ordering.

You will ensure all dietary requirements are catered for and clearly communicated to teams and will work in partnership with the nursery teams to support the nursery care and education provision.
