Job summary

Job description

Smarty Pants Abbey Lane Nursery opened 15 years ago and is based in Abbey Lane Children's Centre, Stratford in Newham.

We are a family owned and run nursery with a baby room and two rooms for children from two to five years old. We have a large garden, enabling the children to have direct access to the outdoor space on a daily basis.

We pride ourselves on ensuring that our staff team have the opportunity to access training, with four inset closure days per year and the opportunity to attend staff social events outside of work.

Requirements
  • Be qualified to Level 3 Early Years Educator or above.
  • Experience working with children from birth to five years.
  • Deliver the Early Years Foundation Stage framework and any other appropriate guidance for young children in accordance with nursery policies and guidelines.
  • Have knowledge of child protection and safeguarding children.
  • Be fluent in written and spoken English and an ability to write reports as directed by the manager, senior practitioner or room leader.
  • Have an understanding of children’s development and their needs.
  • Have awareness of Equal Opportunities issues.
  • Have awareness of Health, Hygiene and Safety in the workplace.
  • Have an awareness of special needs and requirements.
  • Understand the need for confidentiality.
  • The right to work in the UK.
  • To be able to work as part of a team.
  • Have a DBS and be on the Update Service.
