Job summary

Bright Horizons Leatherhead Day Nursery and Pre School is seeking an Early Years Chef to prepare, cook and present nutritious meals for children, with emphasis on reducing waste and meeting dietary needs. You will lead cookery club sessions and help with nursery activities and events.

The role requires previous cooking experience, a passion for healthy eating, and strong communication with staff, children and parents. DBS checks and safeguarding processes apply.

Qualifications

• Previous cooking experience in domestic or commercial settings.
• Passion for nutrition and healthy eating for children.
• Ability to manage dietary requirements and allergies.
• Food safety knowledge relevant to childcare settings (CIEH L2+).
• Strong communication with colleagues, children and parents.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and present age-appropriate meals with minimal waste.
• Cater to dietary requirements and communicate needs clearly to teams.
• Lead cookery club sessions with children and support nursery activities.
• Assist with nursery events such as BBQs and staff meetings.
