Overview

Experienced Teaching Assistant - Early Years / Nursery & Reception (Level 3 or Level 4 qualified)

About the School: We are working with a warm, friendly primary school in Salford that places children's care and development at the heart of everything they do. Their Early Years and Reception classrooms are welcoming, inclusive and full of enthusiasm - they are seeking a level 3 or level 3 qualified Teaching Assistant who will help keep that wonderful environment going smoothly.

The Role

In this role you will work in either the Nursery or Reception classroom, supporting both children and the class teacher. Your contribution will be important in ensuring the children feel safe, supported and engaged.

Responsibilities
  • Supporting the classroom teacher in planning and delivering high-quality, age-appropriate learning activities for nursery or reception children
  • Helping to maintain a calm, welcoming, inclusive classroom where the youngest children feel confident and cared for
  • Building positive relationships with children, encouraging their independence, curiosity and development
  • Assisting with small-group or one-to-one support where needed, observing and monitoring children's progress and contributing to their learning and well-being
  • Bringing a can-do attitude: being flexible, proactive, caring and ready to jump in and support wherever needed
Qualifications
  • A Level 3 or Level 4 qualification (or equivalent) in Early Years / Teaching Assistant role (specifically for nursery/reception)
  • Previous experience working with young children in a nursery or Reception class setting
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, patience, and a genuine passion for supporting young children's learning and development
  • A positive, collaborative team-spirit and the confidence to support an Early Years classroom setting
