Job summary

ABM UK is seeking a Cleaner/Maintenance assistant to deliver high‑quality cleaning at client facilities in and around London. Duties include cleaning floors in reception, dusting, vacuuming, and polishing stainless fixtures.

The role requires reliability and good communication; you can work alone or as part of a team. Hours are Monday–Friday, 5:30am–7:30am, 10 hours weekly, paid £14.80/hour.

Qualifications

• Cleaner/Maintenance experience in retail or similar environment (preferred).
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• General cleaning and maintenance duties on external environments, roads and car parks.
• Be a helpful point of contact for customers in need of assistance.
• Report health and safety issues to management.
• Ensure site checks and site-specific compliances are followed.
• Keep the site clean, safe and welcoming for clients and customers.
• Act as an ABM brand ambassador.

ROLE OVERVIEW AND PURPOSE

Your role will be to deliver cleaning services to client facilities in and around the building to a high standard. Cleaning floors in building reception areas, including dust mopping, damp mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, picking up larger objects off the floor, and spot cleaning glass doors/windows, clean all stainless-steel fixtures and barriers/glass door panels, dry mop black marble pillars inside and external.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• General cleaning and some landscape duties on an external environment, road, and car parks
• Your duties will involve being a helpful point of contact for customers who need assistance
• Being watchful for health and safety issues and to report them to the management team
• Ensuring that the cleaning/maintenance checks & site‑specific compliances are adhered to
• Keeping the site safe, clean & welcoming towards our client & customers
• Being an excellent ABM brand ambassador

Requirements

• Cleaner/Maintenance service experience within the retail or similar environment (preferable)
• Good inter-personal and communication skills
• Ability to use own initiative to identify and prioritise tasks
• Ability to work alone and as part of a team
• Approachable and courteous manner
• An understanding of the need for confidentiality and discretion in an active corporate building
• Excellent attention to detail within cleaning/maintenance responsibilities
• The ability to be flexible to meet the needs and demands of the role & the business
