Job description

We currently have a permanent, full-time opportunity for a dedicated and enthusiastic Early Learning Practitioner who would enjoy working as part of our experienced team in a lively and friendly environment.

The role will be split equally between our two sites working 35 hours per week between the hours of 7.45 am and 6.00 pm.

Main Responsibilities

Day-to-day tasks include working as part of a team with shared responsibilities for:

  • Creating a stimulating learning environment which fosters creativity, curiosity and challenge.
  • Promoting positive relationships with parents, children and colleagues
  • Safeguarding and promoting the health, safety and welfare of the children
  • Making accurate and effective use of assessment reflecting the needs, interests and developmental stage of the individual child
  • Using self-evaluation to identify areas for improvement.
  • Demonstrating a commitment to on-going CPD eg training, weekly planning and monthly quality assurance/self-evaluation activities.
Ideal Candidate

Interested candidates should hold an HNC in Childhood Practice or an SVQ in Social Services 3 in Children and Young People (or equivalent). They should also have experience of working within an Early Years setting and be able to demonstrate up-to-date knowledge of all national guidelines and documents relating to pre-school education. They must also hold current SSSC registration or be willing to undertake the qualification.

Ideally, candidates will also hold a Level 3 Certificate in Forest School Programme Leadership or experience in Forest School/outdoor learning, this is desirable although not essential.
