Job Summary

GKN Aerospace Filton specialises in the design and manufacture of large complex structural wing assemblies, detailed metallic components and wing systems for a combination of both civil and military aircraft. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager the TPM Engineer (Total Productive Maintenance Engineer) will be responsible for maintaining and improving the integrity of production systems through machines, equipment and processes. The TPM Engineer will provide time-planned maintenance activities ranging from aligning and basic fault diagnosis on 5-Axis CNC Machines to working in collaboration with team leaders to ensure all equipment in top working condition to avoid breakdowns and delays in manufacturing processes.

How You'll Contribute

  1. Exemplifying a safety-first mindset and ensuring compliance to the GKN Aerospace Health, Safety and Environmental policies and standards.
  2. Maintaining Regulatory Compliance.
  3. In collaboration with Lean Deployment partners, apply the Maintenance Engineering steps of the Global Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) Program to achieve the required levels of maturity.
  4. Develop program to reduce/prevent/eliminate asset failures.
  5. Work with Planner to implement and maintain preventive maintenance program.

What You'll Bring


  • Experience as an Operator, Maintenance/Facilities Engineering role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, with an ability to influence senior levels of the business as well as establish collaborative working relationships across different departments.
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Packages.


  • Experience using CNC Machines at Maintenance or Operator level.
  • Maintenance, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering qualifications.
  • Understanding of export control and regulations.
  • Previous TPM experience.
