Job description

Our client, a specialty provider of Property and Casualty Insurance and Reinsurance, is seeking an AVP Senior Claims Examiner to join their Professional Lines Claims Team in their London office. In this pivotal role, you will take charge of overseeing their Management Liability claims book, demonstrating expertise in examination, analysis, negotiation, and settlement of complex claims.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the day-to-day oversight of Management Liability claims, ensuring adherence to internal and external KPIs and regulatory requirements.
  • Recognizing contentious issues and significant claims early in their lifecycle and managing them effectively.
  • Facilitating discussions around claims trends and the performance of the Management Liability book with internal stakeholders and industry partners.
  • Developing and nurturing relationships with brokers, service providers, and internal teams.
  • Providing training and imparting knowledge to enhance the expertise of colleagues in Professional Lines claims.

Responsibilities include:

  • Confidently handling all aspects of complex international Management Liability claims.
  • Monitoring service providers' performance and reporting on their compliance with terms and conditions.
  • Conducting regular reviews of the claim portfolio and attending internal and market meetings.
  • Leading communications with Underwriters and actuaries on significant losses and issues.

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • At least 7 years of experience in the insurance industry, specializing in international third-party Professional Lines claims.
  • Previous experience in aBroker, Insurer, and Adjuster role.
  • Technical proficiency in handling complex Management Liability claims.
  • Excellent understanding of the London and Lloyd’s insurance markets and their claims systems.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to mentor junior team members and foster a collaborative team environment.
  • Experience in Financial Institutions, Professional Indemnity, or Cyber claims, legal background/qualifications, and experience in managing teams.

This is a permanent role based on a hybrid model which will require 2-3 days in the office a week (Based near Tower Hill / Fenchurch Street), therefore applicants must be based around or able to commute to Central London regularly.
