Overview

Position Summary: The Property and Casualty Underwriting Associate is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of existing policy information for renewals, communicating effectively with clients for information gathering, and supporting the underwriting process through precise documentation. The role conducts risk assessments and audits for insurance applications, calculates premium and generates reports. They ensure strict adherence to company policies, industry regulations, and compliance standards in all underwriting activities.

Responsibilities
  • Evaluates and maintains existing policy information to ensure data is current, accurate, and appropriately priced for renewal.
  • Responds to client requests and questions, offering information and advice regarding the insurance products & underwriting appetite.
  • Communicates with clients to gather necessary information, resolves inquiries, and ensures a smooth underwriting process.
  • Prepares and organises documentation related to underwriting submissions and policy issuance.
  • Assesses risks associated with individual insurance applications, considering both standard and substandard criteria.
  • Provides support in premium calculations, ensuring accurate application of rates based on underwriting guidelines.
Work Experience / Qualifications
  • We are looking for an individual to have demonstrable experience in the professional indemnity space but we can consider broking as well as underwriting.
  • The role is based in our office 4 days per week.
