About the role

The role encompasses three key pillars:

  • Primary function – is to fulfil the role of “e-commerce manager” for any e-commerce clients with all the deliverables and responsibilities this entails including hands‑on management of the e‑mail marketing and affiliate marketing channels.
  • Secondary function – is to fulfil the requirements of Digital Project Manager for any assigned web design & build projects
  • Tertiary function – auditing and then scoping, authoring, and delivering recommended digital strategies that achieve the client’s objective(s).
Accountability

Working seamlessly with the rest of the digital team and wider agency, you will be responsible for delivering the three pillars of your role. In your e‑commerce manager role you will be accountable both internally and externally for the trading performance and profitable growth of the client’s e‑commerce channel. You will be accountable in your DPM capacity for ensuring that web design & build projects run smoothly, efficiently, on budget and on time, supporting the development team and acting as the conduit between them and the client services team. The final segment of accountability is in the audit function, where you will be accountable for delivering validated insights and costed strategic recommendations as part of our Discovery process.

Deliverables

This role encompasses a number of responsibilities which deliver against the requirements of the Digital Department and the wider agency.

  • Accountability for the strategic e‑commerce plan for clients, both the bigger picture “annual strategy” and the day‑to‑day trading plan
  • Co‑ordinating channel teams to deploy cross‑channel campaigns
  • Carrying out or managing internal resource to ensure day to day management of the websites are maintained, including:
    • Banner & content changes
    • Visual merchandising
    • Product & offer setup and optimisation
    • Identifying, briefing and testing of web development tasks to both deliver new features and functionality and to optimise the performance of the website eg. UX, Assets, Merchandising, Apps
  • Management of affiliate marketing programmes via affiliate networks such as Webgains
  • Management of e‑mail marketing strategies using platforms such as Klaviyo
  • E‑commerce channel P&L Production
  • Proactively spotting digital opportunities and producing strategic recommendations
  • Analytical interpretation of Google Analytics to help shape strategy
  • Production & circulation of Daily Trading reports and monthly performance reports
  • Carrying out the weekly competitor Audit
  • Ensuring that web design & build projects run smoothly, efficiently, on budget and on time
  • Policing and enforcing the Development Workflow Process
  • Supporting the development team and acting as the conduit between them and the client services team on development projects
  • Auditing a client’s digital operations (using multiple tools and resources) to conduct a SWOT analysis that will ultimately result in strategic recommendations
Key Skills & Qualities
  • Experience of core Digital Marketing Channels: Search, Display, Social Media, E‑mail Marketing & Affiliate Marketing
  • Experience of website design and build processes in the context of open‑source platforms such as Shopify & WordPress
  • Experience with Social Media platforms: Facebook, Instagram, TikTok for business purposes
  • Excellent writing and language skills – you’ll be articulate and able to adapt your message to get the required result
  • You should be numerate and comfortable with data manipulation to produce reports and insights using Microsoft Excel
  • Able to forward‑plan and prioritise your workload based on business requirements
  • Great communication and people skills, very comfortable presenting and an ability to convince and excite the client.
  • Proactive and adept as using your own initiative to solve problems
  • Have your finger on the pulse of the digital industry, know about new product updates, the latest trends and technological advances
  • Be able to get in the client’s headspace and gain a solid reading to enable you to modify your approach to meet the client’s expectation
  • Not only be open to challenge but seek it out, look to collaborate and engage the wider account team
