If so, joining the Maintenance Team at Sizewell B Power Station may be the next step in your career!

As a Nuclear Maintenance Technician, you'll play a key role in maintaining and enhancing the performance of our Electrical & Control & Instrumentation systems. You'll be part of a collaborative team that values technical excellence, adaptability, and a proactive approach to problem‑solving.

We're looking for someone who brings experience from a technical field, strong technical skills, effective communication, and a flexible mindset. If you're passionate about contributing to a cleaner energy future, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

Pay, benefits and culture

We can offer a competitive salary from £42,383 - £68,958 and you'll be appointed based on the parameters outlined in the Company Agreement as well as your existing salary, competence, experience and qualifications. This is a full‑time position; however we will be happy to discuss options regarding part‑time flexibility and job share if you would like to highlight this on your application.

At EDF UK, we embrace flexibility while recognising that everyone's working needs are different. Whether you're in our office spaces, on site, or working remotely, we promote an environment that supports collaboration, connection, and comfort. No matter where you are, our priority is to make sure you feel safe, valued, and celebrated.

Here, we do right by each other and everyone's welcome. We're on an action‑oriented journey, championing equity, diversity, and inclusion. We'd like our future workforce to have an equal gender balance, represent a broad mix of people from minority ethnic backgrounds, LGBTQ+, those with a disability and support social mobility.

We're a disability confident employer and we'll do all we can to help with your application. Please let us know if you need to request reasonable adjustments.

We take pride in fostering a dynamic and inclusive environment, where the diverse backgrounds and experiences of our employees drive fresh thinking and innovation. We understand that success means different things to different people. We believe there are multiple definitions of what it means to succeed. That's why we support you to pursue a career that's unique to you. Because success is personal.

What you'll be doing
  • Reporting safety, environmental and plant issues in a timely manner.
  • Ensuring maintenance activities do not adversely affect the environment and are carried out safely, in accordance with procedures.
  • Updating procedures as required.
  • Completing maintenance records and providing feedback on plant condition pre and post maintenance.
  • Using feedback to improve the effectiveness of the maintenance programme.

You'll also take an active role in your own development, participating in performance reviews and personal growth plans. This is a hands‑on role where your expertise will directly support the reliability and safety of our operations.

Who you are

A background in maintenance is essential, ideally with experience in a power station or heavy industrial or manufacturing environment. You'll need to have a time‑served Maintenance apprenticeship or equivalent and be educated to GCSE and Ordinary National Qualification standards (or equivalent). Just as important is for you to have good organisational and communication skills, enthusiasm, be willing to develop and be determined to succeed.

Electrical Technicians should be experienced in industrial electrical installation and maintenance work. You should have knowledge of Low and High Voltage switchgear, electrical testing, battery chargers and Uninterruptible Power Supplies. The installation and maintenance of DSEAR systems would be an advantage.

Control & Instrumentation Technicians should have experience with flow, pressure, temperature and level transmitters and Programmable Logic Controllers. Experience in low voltage switchgear would be an advantage.
