Job summary

Alde Valley Academy, part of Kingfisher Schools Trust, is seeking a capable Cover Supervisor to supervise classes in the absence of teachers. The role supports pupils to complete set work and maintain positive behaviour in a calm, structured environment.

Ideally you will have experience with young people in an educational setting and hold an A level or equivalent qualification. The post is 32.5 hours per week, term time plus one week.

Qualifications

• Experience working with young people in an educational setting is advantageous.
• Ability to supervise and manage student behaviour during cover lessons.
• Good communication skills with colleagues, pupils and parents.

Responsibilities

• Supervise classes during absence of teaching staff and ensure completion of set work.
• Support pupils to perform at their best in a caring environment.
• Communicate effectively with teaching staff and school team.
• Contribute to a positive and well-ordered classroom atmosphere.
