Job summary

Academics Ltd is seeking experienced Primary Teaching Assistants for temporary short and long-term roles across our partnership schools in the Staffordshire Moorlands. You will support teachers, prepare classrooms, and help manage behaviour to engage learners.

Applicants should hold Level 2 or Level 3 TA qualifications, have UK primary school experience, and be able to travel to Biddulph, Cheadle, and Leek by 8:30am. DBS and curriculum familiarity are required.

Qualifications

• Hold a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
• Previous UK primary school/educational setting experience.
• Confident communication skills and ability to motivate learners.
• Strong behaviour management to support EYFS, KS1, and/or KS2.
• Willing to travel to partnership schools in the Staffordshire Moorlands by 8:30am.
• GCSE English and Maths at Grade 4/C or above, or Functional Skills Level 2.
• Familiar with the UK National Curriculum.
• Own a current Enhanced DBS registered with Update Service or apply for a new DBS.

Responsibilities

• Supporting the teacher with the delivery of lessons.
• Preparing the classroom for lessons, including setting up equipment.
• Managing behaviour and engaging learners in their own learning.
• Working with learners one-to-one or in small groups.
• Supporting both teacher and learners to succeed.
