Job summary

Teach Now Limited is seeking a dedicated Physics Teacher to join a Barnet-based secondary school from September 2026. You will plan and deliver engaging Physics and Science lessons across KS3–KS5, with opportunities to teach GCSE/KS4 and A-Level Physics depending on timetable.

The successful candidate will hold QTS, a strong Physics background, and excellent classroom management. A DBS Update Service is desirable, and the post offers supportive CPD and safeguarding training.

Qualifications

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Strong academic background in Physics or closely related subject.
  • Ability to teach Physics confidently at GCSE level.
  • Excellent classroom and behaviour-management skills.
  • Understanding of current secondary-school teaching, assessment and safeguarding expectations.
  • Enhanced DBS on Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Satisfactory professional references.
  • Desirable: Physics degree with A-Level Physics experience depending on timetable.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging Physics and Science lessons across KS3–KS5.
  • Teach GCSE Physics/Combined Science and contribute to KS3 Science.
  • Teach A-Level Physics where appropriate.
  • Use practical investigation, modelling and real-world examples to develop understanding.
  • Assess pupil progress and use assessment to inform future teaching.
  • Maintain high expectations for behaviour, participation and achievement.
  • Differentiate teaching to support pupils with different starting points.
  • Contribute to curriculum planning and Science department development.
  • Participate fully in the wider life of the school.
