Job summary

St Peter's Catholic School in Guildford is seeking an inspirational English teacher to cover maternity leave from January 2027. You will teach English to GCSE (and potentially A‑Level) and contribute to a high‑performing English department known for excellent progress.

Qualifications

• Qualified English Teacher capable of GCSE delivery and assessment.
• Experience in planning schemes of work and marking to criteria.
• ECTs welcome and encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality English teaching to GCSE and A‑level where appropriate.
• Plan lessons, assess progress and provide constructive feedback.
• Contribute to department development and enrichment activities.
• Uphold safeguarding and departmental guidelines.
