Job summary

An independent secondary school in Colchester is seeking an enthusiastic Drama Teacher to join its creative arts department in January. The school is looking for someone who can deliver engaging practical lessons and help pupils develop performance skills, confidence and an appreciation of theatre.

Teach Drama across KS3 and KS4, with post-16 teaching depending on experience. Deliver practical work in devising, improvisation, scripted performance and theatre-making.

Qualifications

• QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• Strong Drama subject knowledge and practical expertise.
• Ability to manage rehearsal activities safely and maintain routines.
• Committed to developing pupils' creativity and confidence.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging Drama lessons across KS3 and KS4; post-16 teaching depending on experience.

• Teach pupils to analyse performances and evaluate their own work.
• Support examination classes with practical and written components.
• Contribute to school productions, showcases and extracurricular drama activities.
