Job summary

Vision for Education is seeking Cover Supervisors to work with secondary schools in Gloucester and surrounding areas. No teaching qualification is required; you will be provided with lesson resources for each class.

As a Cover Supervisor, you’ll manage classes when the regular teacher is absent, ensure students understand tasks, and maintain a positive learning environment in line with school expectations. Roles suit graduates, teaching assistants, and youth-facing backgrounds.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people.
• Ability to manage a class and behaviour.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Enhanced DBS - preferred or willingness to apply for one.

Responsibilities

• Supervising classes across a range of secondary subjects.
• Following work and lesson plans left by the class teacher.
• Ensuring students stay focused and complete work.
• Providing feedback to the school after lessons.
• Recording attendance and reporting issues to staff.
