We are seeking a motivated and experienced DXA Service Lead to lead and develop our DXA service at NDDH. This is an exciting opportunity for a radiographer or other qualified professional with specialist expertise in bone densitometry to take on a leadership role within a supportive and forward‑thinking team.

  • Be the clinical lead for DXA scanning and reporting, ensuring high standards of patient care and technical accuracy.
  • Manage the day‑to‑day operation of the DXA service, including scheduling, quality assurance, and liaison with clinical teams.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to colleagues and stakeholders on osteoporosis assessment and DXA protocols.
  • Support education and training initiatives, including mentoring junior staff and contributing to professional development programmes.
  • Participate in service development, audits, and implementation of national guidelines (e.g. NOGG, NICE, IRMER 2017).
What Were Looking For
  • HCPC‑registered Radiographer or equivalent qualified registered professional with substantial experience in DXA scanning and reporting.
  • Strong understanding of clinical governance and quality improvement.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Commitment to patient‑centred care and multidisciplinary collaboration.
  • Willingness to undertake further training if required (e.g. Radiation Protection Supervisor, ISCD certification).
