Job summary

BT Group is seeking a Solution Architect Specialist to design and deliver scalable big data platform infrastructure. You will automate deployments, monitor performance, and work with security teams to support DV clearance requirements.

This role requires long-term UK residency and eligibility for DV clearance; a £5k annual allowance is payable while you hold clearance. You’ll lead design and deployment across the platform stack, from hardware to customer-facing applications, ensuring scalability

Qualifications

• Linux system administration experience.
• Knowledge of big data technologies and data lakes.
• Kubernetes administration and deployment experience.
• Experience with Helm charts and Infrastructure as Code tools.
• Experience with monitoring systems (CheckMK, Prometheus, Grafana or Loki).
• Docker container build and deployment experience.
• Automation of system deployment using Ansible, Puppet or Chef.

Responsibilities

• Understand customer technical needs and translate into technical solutions.
• Set software/hardware choices for the data platform and data lake.
• Design, build and deploy scalable, resilient infrastructure.
• Automate system build and maintenance tasks.
• Follow best practices for patching, auditing and updates.
• Engage with users of the Platform and support them.
• Mentor junior team members and assist training plans.
• Contribute to knowledge sharing activities.
