Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Senior Cyber Security Engineer to support a UK customer site (Huntingdon) with occasional travel to London and other UK locations. The role focuses on delivering senior security engineering, guiding engineers, and maintaining a strong cyber security posture across environments.

You will work under the Security Engineering Lead, enhancing tooling, overseeing service desk activities, and ensuring compliance with security baselines and accreditation standards.

Qualifications

• Experience implementing defence-in-depth and layered security architectures within complex environments.
• Experience designing, implementing, and governing preventative and detective security controls to manage and reduce risk.
• Strong understanding of systems engineering lifecycle processes (requirements, change, configuration, risk).
• Experience with multiple delivery methodologies (Waterfall, SAFe Agile, DevSecOps).
• Experience conducting design trade-off activities with architects and stakeholders to deliver secure solutions.
• Knowledge of security operations and security engineering service delivery management.
• Experience coordinating security engineering support activities, including ticket management and task allocation.
• Experience mentoring engineering teams and line management responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Work under the Security Engineering Lead to implement, maintain, and enhance security tooling and controls.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to Security Engineers.
• Ensure systems comply with security baselines, policies, and standards.
• Develop and maintain security baselines, standards, and documentation.
• Coordinate service desk activities to ensure timely support.
• Support security monitoring requirements, including SIEM integration.
• Collaborate with customers to develop security policies and technical solutions.
• Assess vulnerabilities, support risk mitigation, and validate remediation.
