Job summary

Liverpool John Moores University is seeking a proactive leader to oversee the Physical Wellbeing Team within our Sport Building. You will ensure safe, efficient daily facility operations while driving strategic projects and staff development initiatives that align with LJMU’s goals.

You will influence health, wellbeing and sport-related programmes, lead change, and work with colleagues to enhance student, staff and community experiences. An inclusive, supportive environment awaits.

Qualifications

• HNC or HND in a relevant subject, equivalent qualification, or proven track record of broad substantial relevant experience.
• Experience of working in physical activity, wellbeing, sport, exercise, fitness, health or related environments.
• Knowledge of health and safety in sport and/or related sectors.

Responsibilities

• Lead the safe and effective day-to-day running of LJMU facilities.
• Take ownership of strategic projects and specialist development areas (staff development, strategic planning, participation, healthy lifestyles, sport development, events, community engagement).
• Contribute to departmental strategy, analyse impact, and develop skills for future career progression.

Alongside leading the safe and effective day-to-day running of our facilities, you will take ownership of strategic projects and a specialist development area such as staff development, strategic planning, participation, healthy lifestyles, sport development, events or community engagement. As part of a supportive team committed to developing talent, you will have opportunities to lead initiatives, analyse impact, contribute to departmental strategy, and build the skills and experience needed for future career progression.

A HNC or HND in a relevant subject, equivalent qualification, or proven track record of broad substantial relevant experience demonstrating general knowledge of technical or professional practice is essential. You will also need experience of working in physical activity, wellbeing, sport, exercise, fitness, health or associated environment as well as knowledge of issues and systems relating to health and safety in sport and/or associated sectors.
