Duties Officer

Location: Police Headquarters, Winfrith, Dorset

Salary: Scale D/BAR/E - Starts at £26,106 rising by yearly increments to a maximum of £33,264 per annum

Please note that the above salary is based on working 37 hours per week. If this role is part-time or you are appointed on a part-time basis your salary will be prorated to reflect this. Exceptions to starting salary may apply if you are an existing Devon & Cornwall or Dorset Police Staff employee substantively posted to a role at the same Scale.

Vacancy Type: Permanent, 1 x 37 hours per week AND 1 x 18.5 hours per week

Type of working arrangement: Hybrid Worker - Hybrid working is a form of flexible working where workers spend some of their time working remotely (usually, but not necessarily, from home) and some in the employer's workspace.

The Role

The Duties Management Team is a key area within Dorset Police projecting resources for approximately 2000 Police Officers and Police Staff over a 12 month period as cost effectively as possible.

Whilst monitoring staffing levels on a daily basis, and managing Annual Leave/other abstractions for the force, the Duties Team liaise with various department leads highlighting and problem solving any staffing issues to ensure agreed staffing levels are achieved.

The Duties Team allocate resources to Special Events, Sporting Events, Major Incidents as well as providing resources for Regional and National mutual aid requests from other forces. Whilst doing this following Police Officer Regulations, the Police Staff Council Handbook, Working Time Regulations as well as Force Policies is centric to this role.
