Job summary

Barhale is seeking a General Operative - Dumper in Reading to support site operations. The role involves performing earthworks, drainage and concrete tasks under supervision, while maintaining safety and productivity on site.

Applicants should hold a CSCS card and CPCS forward tipping dumper certification; SSSTS/SMSTS is desirable. This is a full-time temporary position based at Reading with opportunities for on-site training and development.

Qualifications

• Experience in general civil work (earthwork, drainage, ducting, kerbing, and concreting).
• Knowledge of site safety practices and compliance with risk assessments.

Responsibilities

• Understand all relevant risk and method statements and follow safety standards.
• Use best/safe practice on all tasks carried out.
• Checks are conducted on equipment that may be used.
• Installing drainage, laying concrete, kerbs, and pavements, and carrying out excavation and groundworks.
• Ensure a safe, tidy place of work.
• Maximise use of own working time.
• Ensure signed up for all permits and briefings before commencing any work.
• Communicate with the site supervisor on any concerns.
• Feedback to site management with near-miss reporting.
• Ensure to attend all site briefings, forums, and toolbox talks.
• Deputise for conducting briefings and toolbox talks.
