Job Title: Design & Technology Technician
Location: Secondary School Stevenage
Contract: Immediate Start until 13th March 2026
Hours: Full-time, term time only

We are seeking an experienced Design & Technology Technician to join a supportive secondary school in Stevenage on a fixed-term basis. This role is available immediately and will run until 13th March 2026.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support to the Design & Technology department.

  • Prepare, maintain, and set up equipment, tools, and materials for practical lessons.

  • Ensure a safe learning environment in workshops, following all school policies and statutory requirements.

  • Support teachers in delivering engaging practical lessons.

  • Carry out routine maintenance and repairs of equipment.

Requirements:

  • A recognised Health & Safety qualification.

  • Previous experience working as a DT Technician (or in a similar workshop/educational environment).

  • Strong practical skills and the ability to support the use of tools and machinery safely.

  • Good organisational skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
