The Role

As a DT Technician, you will play an important role in supporting the Design & Technology department and ensuring that lessons run safely and effectively.

You will work closely with teaching staff to prepare materials, equipment and resources for practical lessons, while helping to maintain a safe, organised and engaging workshop environment.

The role would suit someone who is practical, organised and confident working with tools, materials and workshop equipment, with a genuine interest in supporting young people in their DT education.

The ideal DT Technician will:

• Have previous experience working in a DT, workshop or practical environment
• Have good knowledge of tools, materials and workshop equipment
• Be confident preparing resources and equipment for practical lessons
• Understand the importance of health and safety in a workshop environment
• Be organised and able to manage multiple tasks effectively
• Have a practical, hands-on approach to problem solving
• Be able to work collaboratively with teachers and support staff
• Have strong communication skills and a positive approach
• Be enthusiastic about supporting students in developing their practical skills
• Be available to start immediately or at short notice
