Stradbroke High School is seeking an enthusiastic DT and Art Technician to support and maintain the art room, kiln, food room and workshop equipment. The post-holder will have sound knowledge and experience in an art or design environment.

Training includes first aid duties and handling of expensive equipment. The role offers 26 hours per week with a November 2026 start and an application deadline of 1 September 2026.

Salary: SCP5 £25,583 - SCP6 £25,989 per annum. Pro Rata £15,462 - £15,987 per annum

The Role

Stradbroke High School seeks to appoint an enthusiastic Art, DT and Food Technician to join our flourishing departments to support and maintain the art room, kiln, food room, workshop equipment and consumables. The post-holder will possess sound knowledge and experience in a art or design work environment.

The professional competencies expected of a technician & first aider are:

• Ability to solve straightforward problems
• Exchange information with pupils, teachers and other technicians
• Uses hand/eye co-ordination and dexterity in the preparation of materials or use of equipment
• Works from instructions but makes minor decisions involving the use of initiative. Problems are referred to a line manager. Little close supervision is necessary beyond that provided by working arrangements and methods.
• Responsible for careful use of expensive equipment
• Prepare equipment and resources as required
• May keep basic financial recordsProvide first aid for students as part of a rota
