Job description
DSS Warehouse Manager

Menzies Distribution Solutions are currently recruiting for an experienced Warehouse Manager to join our team in Wakefield. This role will closely support a single customer account based on a Menzies site. Key to this role is the management and maintenance of the customer warehouse contract, focusing on profitable business growth through customer intimacy. The role will have responsibility for staff based on the site and will need to manage warehouse operations through several direct reports, providing clear leadership and direction.

The Contract Manager should seek to exceed profit targets by enabling good profit reporting and control through the establishing of operational KPI’s and Continuous Improvement. The role should maximize the weekly, monthly and annual performance of the site by providing leadership, effective operational performance, a motivated workforce, succession planning and "making Menzies a great place to work". They should also aim to optimise driver and vehicle efficiency through careful planning of their delivery network. This role will ensure that all legislative and regulatory requirements are upheld and the highest standards of health and safety are maintained at all times.

  • Salary:£47,500.00 Per Annum / £19.19 Per Hour
  • Shift Pattern: Days
  • Hours: 07:00-17:00
  • Holiday Allowance: 28 Days inlcusive of 8 Bank Holidays

Key Duties and Accountabilities (will include but not be limited to):
  • Provide a safe working environment, seeking opportunities to raise the profile of Health and Safety across the site
  • Build and maintain excellent customer relationships with the client in order to develop a constantly improving service and achieve profitable business growth
  • Hold regular customer reviews and provide them with clear business and operational reports with supporting analysis.
  • Ensure all operational performance standards are met, monitored and maintained in accordance with contractual service level agreements.
  • Take an active role in the Contracts growth strategy, through responsibility for key account development initiatives and identifying potential new customers
  • Work within annual operating budget and enable good profit reporting through establishing and monitoring KPI’s
  • Where appropriate, manage site team by providing leadership and demonstrating Menzies values
  • Manage the planning of the sites resource to ensure the Warehouse runs effectively and efficiently.
  • Where directs report to this role, set clear goals and targets through the PDR process, recognise good performance and professionally manage poor performance
  • Seek opportunities to develop self and others
Key Experience and Qualifications
  • Experienced Logistics professional, graduate or with relevant qualifications who has thorough understanding of Warehouse & Transport Operations
  • Demonstrable experience of customer relationship management
  • Has experience of Fast Moving Warehouse Operations
  • Proven capability of leading a function
  • Experience of efficiency savings and business growth
  • Good financial and business acumen with experience of managing budgets
  • Has good Project Management skills
  • Can demonstrate Continuous Improvement techniques in Warehouse Operations
