Job summary

Positive Employment is recruiting a Financial Analyst for our client, a local government organisation based in Bedford. The role supports DSG funding and strategic financial planning within the Education Division.

The successful candidate will have DSG experience, strong Excel skills and proven ability to deliver reliable management information, budgets and forecasts under pressure. Contract length is 3 months with hybrid working (at least one day per month in the office) and an IR35

Qualifications

• AAT qualification or equivalent experience.
• Essential experience with Dedicated Schools Grant (DSG).
• Experience in financial management of DSG Schools Block.
• Experience with High Needs Block is desirable.
• Strong Excel skills and ability to analyse large data.

Responsibilities

• Support strategic financial planning and management of the DSG.
• Undertake financial management and monitoring of DSG Schools Block and High Needs Block.
• Monitor and support delivery of the DSG management plan.
• Produce accurate financial reports, analysis and MI.
• Lead or support change projects to improve processes.
• Communicate financial information to stakeholders.
