Gallagher Bassett, in association with Mays Brown, seeks an Associate Solicitor to join the Newcastle Upon Tyne team. The role focuses on managing a high-quality caseload of dry shipping disputes for shipowners, charterers, traders, insurers, and P&I Clubs.

The successful candidate will be a qualified solicitor with 2+ years PQE and proven dry shipping experience, eligible to work in the UK. This on-site position offers a competitive compensation package.

• Proven experience in shipping law (dry shipping)
• Eligible to work in the UK

Responsabilités

• Managing a varied caseload of dry shipping disputes
• Advising clients on contractual, charterparty, cargo, and payment disputes
• Supporting senior lawyers on high-value matters
• Drafting legal documents, correspondence and advice
• Handling negotiations, dispute resolution and client meetings
• Contributing to business development and networking events
