Job summary

Cumberland Council in Maryport is seeking a Driver Technician to support the Community Equipment Service, delivering, fitting and demonstrating essential equipment to help people live independently at home across Cumbria.

You will collect and return equipment for refurbishment, travel across the region, and work in a role that combines practical hands-on tasks with strong customer service and communication skills. A full UK driving licence is required and the role is permanent.

Qualifications

  • Full UK driving licence (minimum one year’s experience).

  • Ability to work independently and travel extensively across the region.
  • Experience in a care-related setting preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver, fit and demonstrate community equipment to service users.
  • Collect and return equipment for refurbishment.
  • Travel across Cumbria to service users and care homes as required.

About This Opportunity

Cumberland Council is looking for a dedicated and compassionate Driver Technician to support our Community Equipment Service. In this hands‑on role, you'll be delivering, fitting, and demonstrating essential equipment to help people live independently in their own homes across Cumbria. You'll also collect and return equipment for refurbishment, ensuring everything is handled with care and respect.

Location: Maryport

Salary: £26,403 - £26,824 per annum

Hours: 37 hours per week

Contract: Permanent

About This Opportunity
