Job summary

Hollybank Trust’s Willow Court is looking for a reliable Driver / Caretaker to join our team in Mirfield. The role blends safe transport with routine maintenance and caretaking to support residents and day-to-day operations.

Applicants should hold a full UK driving licence with a good driving record, plus basic DIY skills and the ability to work independently with strong communication and health & safety awareness. DBS checks apply.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Safely transport service users, staff, and visitors as required.
• Plan journeys efficiently and carry out deliveries in a timely manner.
• Carry out daily vehicle checks and ensure vehicles are clean, roadworthy, and well maintained.
• Report any vehicle defects or incidents promptly.
• Support passengers with boarding, seating and exiting vehicles in a safe and respectful manner.
• Adhere to all road safety regulations and organisational policies.
• Carry out basic maintenance tasks (e.g. minor repairs, decorating, furniture assembly).
• Ensure the building, grounds and facilities are clean, safe and well maintained.
• Conduct routine health & safety checks and report hazards or faults.
• Support with moving and handling furniture and equipment as required.
• Oversee external contractors and assist with site access where needed.
• Maintain stock of maintenance supplies and equipment.

Job description

We are looking for a reliable, proactive and flexible Driver / Caretaker to join our team at Willow Court. This is a varied and rewarding role combining transport duties with general maintenance and caretaking responsibilities, supporting the smooth day-to-day running of our service. You will play a key role in ensuring the safety, comfort and wellbeing of the people we support by providing safe transport and maintaining a clean, safe, and well-functioning environment.

Willow Court is a specialist, nineteen-bedroom nursing-led home based on Hollybank Trust's beautiful Mirfield campus. The service supports adults with a wide range of complex health and medical needs and offers outstanding facilities, including communal living spaces and a large sensory room. Residents enjoy a varied programme of activities both within the home and out in the community.

Unfortunately, we are not able to offer sponsorship to work in the UK, and we do ask that you have at least 6 months of UK based work experience in any sector.

All successful candidates will be subject to a DVLA check.

Key Responsibilities:

Driving Duties

• Safely transport service users, staff, and visitors as required

We will pay for your initial DBS check, unless you have a portable DBS, however, if the candidate leaves voluntarily within the first 12 months, £58.90 will be deducted from your final salary payment
