Job description

We are seeking an experienced Delivery Driver with a full, clean UK drivers licence for our client based in the West London area. When not working in the warehouse, the successful Delivery Driver candidate shall assist with the deliveries of high quality goods manufactured by our multi‑national client. This role provides an opportunity for development and progression within the company on a permanent basis.

Main Duties / Responsibilities

• Picking and packing
• Loading and offloading vehicles and trailers
• Day‑to‑day administration
• Participation in the stock take
• Filling in of Check Sheets, Delivery Notes
• Weighing and labelling of goods
• Pallet strapping and shrink wrapping
• When not working in the warehouse, the candidate shall be conducting deliveries of the company's high quality goods, driving a 3.5 ton vehicle

Essential Driver Candidate Requirements

• Must hold a full, clean UK drivers licence
• Provide a friendly and helpful response to customer enquiries to their total satisfaction, contributing to the distribution team’s goal of improving service levels
• Identify and work with third‑party distribution providers, identifying potential problems to ensure the smooth flow of orders and customer satisfaction
• Ensure that complaints, as they affect your direct responsibility, are promptly dealt with in a professional manner
• Maintain company property to the required standard
• Represent the company in a business‑like manner and maintain a standard of dress and appearance in keeping with the job and position within the company
• As an employee, you have a legal duty to take reasonable care of yourself and others and to cooperate with management on all aspects of health and safety, as set out in the Employee Safety Handbook
• Have previous experience of the Health and Safety standards of the warehouse
• Be prepared to assist with out‑of‑hours services to customers when the need arises, as well as any ad‑hoc duties as required by the Branch Manager, Assistant Branch Manager or a Director
• A forklift / counter‑balance licence would be an advantage
• Excellent grasp and understanding of Maths and English written and verbal is essential
• Shift: 07:30 am – 5 pm, Monday to Friday

Pay & Benefits

Permanent rate: £13.93 per hour. Temporary rate: £13.00 per hour with agency. Working longer hours to meet company targets is expected. Overtime is paid at time and a half (first 12 weeks £19.50 per hour with agency, thereafter £20.90 per hour). This is a temporary ongoing position with the possibility of securing a permanent role for the successful candidate.
