The Motor Transport Department (MT) provides a vital role in support of the UK's Principal Military Headquarters at Northwood HQ.

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Driver to portray a professional image in delivering a first‑class service to both military and civil servants.

  • Drive a variety of vehicles within the pool, ranging from cars to minibuses.
  • Provide services in accordance with both MoD and or civilian regulations.
  • Complete first line maintenance, checks in accordance with vehicle specifications and requirements.
  • Valeting and preparation of vehicles when not on driving duties.

As part of the Driver Team at Northwood HQ, your standard working hours are organised according to a 12 week shift pattern which will require you to work 1 Saturday and 1 Sunday within this period. For this reason, ideally you will reside within 30 minutes travel time to Northwood HQ.

We're looking for
  • Ability to obtain security clearance to 'SC' level. In order to obtain clearance, the successful candidate will have been, continually, a resident in the UK for the past 5 years.
  • D or D1 without “101” restriction or CPC.
  • Professional driving experience.
  • A good geographical knowledge.
  • Knowledge of driving regulations and drivers hours Regulations.
