Job summary

The Forum School and Residential Home in the UK, part of The Cambian Group, seeks a reliable minibus driver to transport staff to and from the Forum School in Shillingstone. You will work mornings, evenings, and some weekends, ensuring safe, courteous transport for our team and learners when required.

Applicants should hold a clean driving licence, have no relevant criminal record, and be able to work independently or as part of a team while maintaining vehicle safety and reporting any issues

Qualifications

• No criminal record or cautions that could affect safety and welfare of others.
• Current, clean driving licence to drive minibus as required.
• Experience driving a variety of vehicles and working as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Drive a minibus and ensure it is safe for each trip.
• Maintain records of maintenance and provide them to the admin team.
• Ensure health and safety of self and others in the vehicle.
• Identify defects and report to the maintenance manager promptly.
• Handle emergencies while on the road.
• Attend work reliably and punctually.
• Complete required training and contribute positively.
• Follow Cambian policies and contents.
• Perform duties safely, timely, and professionally.

The Cambian Group is one of the largest providers of specialist behavioural health services for children and adults in the UK. Our work in the UK embraces many specialist services including adult mental health, acquired brain injury, children’s specialist education, children’s residential services and fostering services.

The Forum School and Residential Home is a 52 week residential specialist school providing quality therapeutic care and education for young people with Autism, sever learning difficulties, challenging behaviour and complex needs. The children and young people that attend our school range between the ages of 11 and 19 years.

The Job

This job involves driving staff from set locations to and from The Forum School in company vehicles. All work in and around The Forum School is completed by friendly, reliable and responsible persons. Drivers are responsible for driving our wonderful team from local towns into work at school in Shillingstone. Our brilliant team work so hard to support our children, we are offering them transport to work and back again at the end of a tiring day.

The ideal candidate will have a clean driving record, a self-motivated attitude and the ability to work independently. The role involves working as a team or individually to create the right environment to help the broader team fulfil its purpose. Drivers maintain a high standard in checking the vehicles are functional, safe and pleasant environments for people to travel.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Drive a minibus and ensure this is safe for each trip.
• To carry out monitoring of maintenance requirements and provide admin team with records.
• To take reasonable care for the health and safety of yourself and that of others in the vehicle.
• To identify any defects and damage of the vehicle and promptly report these to the site maintenance manager.
• To deal with emergencies if they should occur while out on the road.
• To ensure the safety of the vehicles.
• To attend work reliably and punctually.
• To attend any training as required and take part in a positive manner.
• To know where Cambian policies are kept and to be aware of and follow their contents.
• To carry out all duties as instructed in a safe, timely, professional and courteous manner.
• To play a full part in building good relationships with other staff.
• To carry out, as and when required, any additional duties and responsibilities as are reasonably compatible with this job description and deemed appropriate by your employer in the interests of the company.

The ideal candidate will be able to work mornings, evenings, some weekend hours, be self motivated and be able to keep calm should there be an emergency en-route.

Qualifications

• No criminal record including convictions, cautions, reprimands etc. which may be relevant to the safety and welfare of others.
• Current, clean driving licence to drive minibus as required.

Experience

• Experience of driving a variety of vehicles.
