The role

As a Driver, you’ll be a key part of our transport operations supporting the RSME contract. You’ll be responsible for delivering a safe and reliable transport service, driving a variety of military and civilian vehicles both on and off road.

Day-to-day you’ll be
  • Driving eligible personnel and equipment to and from training exercises and military duties
  • Operating a range of multi-disciplined vehicles including PSV and LGV fleet
  • Performing Level 1 maintenance tasks and Before, During, and After Use Checks
  • Completing departmental administrative tasks when required
  • Carrying out manual work including lifting, bending, and using tools

The role is based onsite at RSME Minley, and the set working times are Monday to Friday, totaling 37 hours per week.

Essential experience
  • In-depth understanding of driver’s hours regulations (JSP800 Vol 5 or EU)
  • Practical experience maintaining roadworthiness of vehicles
  • Experience in load restraint and load safety
  • Skilled in off-road driving
Qualifications
  • Full UK Driving Licence with minimum Category C
  • Categories C+E and D are desirable

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) security clearance for this role.
