Job description

EQUESTRIAN APPRENTICESHIP (Level 2 or 3) - Are you looking to achieve your qualifications but don’t feel the classroom is for you? We will soon have a vacancy for a full time apprentice at St Giles Dressage. New built facilities (indoor, outdoor arena, hacking). The role will includes general horse care including mucking out, grooming, preparing horses for competitions, tack cleaning, and exercising (this is dependent on riding ability- for competing out youngsters you need a competition record at Medium level at least. The opportunity to ride at shows and training days. Applicants must be confident handling fit competition horses and young stock (most horses are over 16.2hh). Riding training given if riding capabilities are above BD medium. All training will be provided with Haddon Training on site, so this would suit someone who would prefer to learn on the job rather than in a classroom. Riding lessons by GP trainer.

  • Own horse can be accommodated too (perk).
  • Apprentiship wage, 30hrs per week.
  • Working hours 7-11 am and 3-5 pm. (Time to ride your pony / horse in a long lunchbreak).
