Job summary

GSL Education Kent is seeking a Drama Mentor to join a Dover-based secondary school. You will design and deliver engaging drama activities to help pupils build confidence, communication and teamwork.

The role is long-term, full-time, with daily rates between £120 and £200 depending on experience; safeguarding checks including enhanced DBS are required. Start date October 2026 and ongoing placement in Dover.

Qualifications

• Have a degree, qualification or strong professional background in Drama, Performing Arts or a related subject.
• Confident using creative activities to engage and motivate young people.
• Build positive relationships with pupils and encourage their participation.
• Support pupils to develop communication, confidence and teamwork skills.
• Be patient and adaptable to different individual needs.
• Demonstrate strong communication and behaviour management skills.
• Experience with young people in education/mentoring is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide targeted support to pupils through Drama and Performing Arts activities.
• Work with individuals or small groups, adapting activities to needs.
• Encourage participation and help pupils express themselves in a safe environment.
