Job Title: Drainage Technician

Department: Operations / Maintenance

Reports To: Drainage Supervisor / Site Manager

Location: Redhill & South London

Employment Type: Full-time / Permanent

We are seeking a skilled and dependable Drainage Technician to join our growing team. This role involves inspecting, maintaining, repairing, and installing drainage systems across residential, commercial, and industrial sites. The ideal candidate will bring technical expertise, strong problem-solving skills, and a commitment to health and safety standards.

Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on drainage systems and pipe networks
  • Conduct CCTV drain surveys to identify blockages, defects, and structural issues
  • Operate high-pressure water jetting equipment to clear blockages and clean drains
  • Install and replace drainage infrastructure including pipes, manholes, and gullies
  • Diagnose drainage issues using specialised tools and equipment
  • Prepare accurate job sheets, reports, and site assessments
  • Collaborate effectively with supervisors, engineers, and site teams
  • Adhere to company health, safety, and environmental protocols
  • Respond promptly to emergency callouts and reactive maintenance requests
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicles in good working order
Qualifications & Experience
  • Proven experience in drainage maintenance and civil works
  • Familiarity with CCTV survey equipment and jetting machinery
  • Valid UK driver’s licence and passport
  • Confined space entry and jetting certification (preferred but not essential)
Skills & Attributes
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving abilities
  • Physically fit and comfortable working in confined spaces and outdoor environments
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Reliable, self-motivated, and safety-conscious
Working Conditions
  • Outdoor and field-based work, including in adverse weather
  • Participation in on-call shifts, weekend work, and emergency response
