Job summary

A drainage solutions firm based in Stockport is looking for a Trainee Drain Repair Engineer. In this role, you will receive comprehensive on-the-job training and work on repairing below-ground drainage systems. Responsibilities include manual excavation, replacing defective pipework, and working outdoors in diverse weather conditions. A full UK driving licence is essential. This position offers a structured progression pathway to become a qualified engineer within 6-12 months, with all tools and PPE supplied.

Trainee Drain Repair Engineer

Full-Time, Permanent

Location: Stockport

Salary: £12.21‑£13 per hour

Hours: 45 hours per week

About the Role

As a Trainee Drain Repair Engineer, you will:

  • Work as part of a team repairing below-ground drainage systems
  • Excavate by hand to expose and replace defective pipework at domestic and commercial properties
  • Replace broken gullies and manhole chambers
  • Reinstatement of excavated areas where required
  • Operate safely and efficiently while following company health and safety procedures
  • Learn from experienced engineers on live projects from day one
