Job description

Location and Hours

Location: Wellingborough, Northamptonshire

Hours: 45 hours per week – Evening / Nights

Responsibilities

As a Drainage Operative, you'll work within the Maintenance team, supporting the cyclical gully cleansing programme and reactive services to ensure highway drainage assets are operational.

Daily Tasks

• Operate a high-pressure jetting lorry
• Use handheld recording devices to capture work information
• Carry out daily vehicle checks, report defects, and keep vehicles clean and tidy
• Participate in out-of-hours incident response and winter service duties
• Lead a 2-person crew, taking responsibility for daily tasks, health and safety, and completing all required paperwork

Candidate Requirements

This role is suitable if you:

• Can lift and perform manual work outdoors in all weather conditions, with a current driving licence and ability to drive HGVs
• Feel comfortable communicating with your team and the public
• Can follow Kier's policies and procedures, with flexibility for shift patterns and emergency responses
