• Location: Ryemeads Sewage Treatment Works, Home Counties North Region (Ware, Hertfordshire)
• Job Type: permanent, full‑time
• Hours: Monday to Friday, 50 hours (3 weeks of days, 1 week of nights)
• Salary: OTE £37,000 per annum (made up of overtime, night shift allowances and any bonuses)

About the Role

Due to continued growth and development, we are now looking for customer focused people to join us in our Utility Division, working on our Thames Water contract service to deliver real and effective solutions to waste‑water network and drainage problems.

Key Responsibilities

• Work alongside a HGV two‑person crew to operate a portareel for planned and reactive blockages.
• Deliver good customer service.
• Maintain good H&S practice during works.
• Ensure vehicle stock is full and replenished.
• Comply with health and safety responsibilities, e.g., PPE, safe site set‑ups, protection of Lanes Group employees, the public and other road users.
• Utilise VISTEC and Salesforce platforms.
• Liaise with the client regarding progress and updates.
• Work unsupervised in all weather conditions utilising correct PPE, lone worker system, etc.
• Dynamically risk assess site access & working conditions depending on specific circumstances on arrival.
• Provide support to colleagues.
• Conduct thorough inspections of tools, equipment and plant before/after use.
• Report any defects or malfunctions in regards to training.
• Carry out risk assessments and adopt a mature approach to risk perception.
• Be aware of all Lanes Group policies and your responsibility towards them.
• Perform any other reasonable ad‑hoc duties requested by management.

About You

The ideal candidate will be hardworking and respectful and comply with health and safety standards. Experience in the use of High Pressure Jetting equipment is useful but not essential. Other drainage qualifications (e.g., NRSWA and Confined Spaces) are an advantage.
