Job description

We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Drainage Maintenance Engineer to cover planned maintenance activities. Responsibilities include jetting drains, interceptor servicing, pump station inspection, patch lining using crawler units, coding, dealing with dilapidation, cleaning gullies and ACOs, as well as maintaining and repairing urinals and toilets. The ideal candidate will also have experience handling blockages in both internal and external drainage systems in a reactive capacity.

This is a mobile position; therefore, the successful candidate will work across various client sites in different industries, involving travel and occasional overnight stays. The role suits candidates with several years of experience in drainage, environmental compliance, or maintenance sectors. The ability to work independently or as part of a team is essential. Candidates should enjoy outdoor work in all weather conditions and be physically fit, as the role involves heavy lifting and working in confined spaces.

Requirements
  • Experience in plumbing is advantageous.
  • Proficiency with digital equipment is required.
  • Experience working with local Water Authorities is desirable.

Salary is based on experience and technical ability.

  • Performing underground utility surveys, including drainage and topographical mapping.
  • Interpreting existing drawings and specifications.
  • Using equipment such as CCTV cameras and CAT scanners for research.
  • Completing accurate field surveys and technical reports.
  • Making recommendations for further work based on survey findings.
  • Reporting professionally to client project managers.
  • Training and coaching new colleagues.
  • Performing ad-hoc duties as required.
  • Travel and occasional work away from home are required.
