Job summary

Whyte & Mackay is recruiting for two Drain & Fill Operators for Invergordon Distillery. The role focuses on the efficient daily operation of warehousing, with responsibilities including palletised forklift movements, stowing and blending mature spirit under control room instruction, and general safe handling of goods.

You will work a 38-hour week, Monday to Thursday 08:00–16:30 and Friday 08:00–14:00, reporting to the Drain & Fill Team Leader.

Qualifications

• Current UK driving licence is essential.
• Forklift truck experience is preferable.
• HGV experience is preferable.
• IOSH training or equivalent is preferable.
• Bar code stock control and scanner systems experience preferable.

Responsibilities

• Palletised forklift operations using diesel and electric counterbalance trucks.
• Stowage of new make spirit into warehouses under control room guidance.
• Blending removal of mature spirit from warehouse per control room instructions.
• Consolidation and preparation for removal of palletised spirit.
• General warehouse duties to protect integrity of goods.
• Drive VNA truck when required.

What the opportunity looks like

Assist with the efficient daily operation of Warehousing. Take responsibility over general duties in a safe and efficient manner. Work with care and attention to protect the integrity of company goods.

• Palletised FLT operations – operate both Diesel powered and Electric powered counterbalance fork trucks as per operator training and guidelines.
• Palletised stowing of new make spirit into warehouses as per control room instruction by means of Electric FLT.
• Palletised blend removal of mature spirit from warehouse as per control room instruction by means of electric FLT.
• Consolidation and or preparation for removal of palletised spirit in warehouse as per control room instruction by means of electric FLT.
• Carry out stowing in the warehouse.
• Removal of casks from Warehouses.
• Loading and unloading of TLV’s.
• Cask movement of trailer.
• Drive VNA truck.
