Overview

Job Title: Personal Assistant

Location: Llanybydder area

Hours of work: 4.75 hours per week

Rate of Pay: £14.00 per hour

Introduction

A personal assistant is sought for mum who is an elderly lady with varying abilities, she is not very mobile, has episodes of confusion and has good and not so good days.

We are offering 4.75 hours per week preferably Tuesday 2pm onward or Thursday 1pm onwards.

Responsibilities
  • Provide personal care and toileting, including cleaning and changing pads
  • Companionship
  • Make drinks and snacks
  • Prompt to take medications
  • Help transfers to wheeled commode or to bathroom

  • Caring, honest, responsible, and patient
  • Flexibility around hours of work and main duties of the job
  • Reliable with good time keeping
  • Able to use own initiative and be self-motivated
  • Able to maintain confidentiality and be aware of privacy
  • An ability to develop and maintain a supportive relationship
  • Good communication and inter-personal skills; the service user has aphasia and so time and patience is needed to enable and encourage him to communicate his wishes

If requested by the employer, two satisfactory references must be provided. This post is subject to a trial period of 1 month and a probationary period of up to 6 months.

Wages will be paid in arrears on a 4 weekly basis once a valid National Insurance (NI) number has been provided. You must be eligible to work in the UK and your employer will conduct document checks prior to commencement.

You will receive the appropriate annual leave entitlement as well as all other statutory entitlements, details of which will be set out in your contract of employment. You will also be issued with a Personal Assistants Handbook when your employment commences.

You will be expected to undertake any mandatory training identified as relevant to this post. The cost of mandatory training will be met through the direct payment. Failure to attend mandatory training may result in your employment offer being withdrawn.
