Overview

Job title: Personal Assistant

Location: Llanwnnen / Lampeter

Hours of work: 10 hours per week, worked flexibly

Rate of pay: £14.50 per hour plus mileage allowance on duty

Introduction: A Personal Assistant is required to support a 20-year-old man with some learning disabilities to become more confident in exploring both the community and his career options. The client has a strong interest in farming and all things mechanical, and enjoys going to farm sales and marts, as well as social activities such as coffee and shopping.

Hours are to be worked flexibly as required and agreed in advance. Must have own transport and a full, clean driving licence.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure client is safe in their environment.
  • Assist with meals and drinks on duty if required.
  • Actively encourage the client to participate in activities.
  • Provide support and guidance to develop independence skills.
  • Assist the client to attend social activities he enjoys.
  • Carry out any other reasonable requests that may be made by the employer from time to time.

Requirements and Other Information
  • This appointment is subject to an enhanced DBS check, which will incur no cost to the applicant.
  • Two satisfactory references may be required (as requested by the employer).
  • Post is subject to a trial period of 1 month and a probationary period of up to 6 months.
  • Wages will be paid in arrears on a 4-weekly basis once a valid National Insurance (NI) number has been provided.
  • You must be eligible to work in the UK; document checks will be conducted prior to commencement.
  • You will receive the appropriate annual leave entitlement and other statutory entitlements, details of which will be set out in your contract of employment.
  • You will be issued with a Personal Assistant Handbook when employment commences.
  • You may be required to undertake mandatory training identified as relevant to this post; the cost of mandatory training will be met through direct payment. Failure to attend may result in the withdrawal of the offer.
  • If requested by the employer, two satisfactory references must be provided.
